Earlier this month, we shared our first round of Owlet printables: Instructional Resources! Now, we’re back with the second helping of free math resources, designed just for little learners working with Glow and Cube. Let’s dive right in to the student resources available free for download on our website.
What are Glowgrid: How-To-Cards? Are your students getting started with the GlowGrid app for the first time? These GlowGrid: How-To-Cards provide the necessary information in one clear, colorful, and neatly organized package. They include descriptions of how to physically use Glow along with the app, as well as helpful overviews of each of the app’s activity modes.
How do I use this resource? We suggest printing these out for users to have onhand as they work, perhaps one copy at each table or desk cluster. (The cards do have text, so students who are not yet reading independently will need extra support.) The cards could also be helpful projected up onto the board!
What is the GlowPix Picture Plan? The GlowPix app has many different settings, and creative students will love diving in to create their own unique picture with the picture creation tool! This document is made to help students plan out the image that they would like to appear on their Glow. This handy sheet also includes extra space for students to plan out their equations (and directions to continue on the back if they need more room).
How do I use this resource? Different teachers may require different levels of planning and showing of work by their students – and that will determine how this resource is used. Try the GlowPix Picture Plan resource out in your classroom, see how you like it, and then customize its use to fit your needs!
What is the Compare Mode Prompt? The Compare Mode Prompt is an optional extension activity to enhance students’ experience with compare mode within the Cube3 app. Individual students or small groups can follow directions and fill out these tables to list the differences and sums from least to greatest. There are four tables per page, to make for easy printing and cutting.
How do I use this resource? This resource would be best used printed out and handed to students to use individually or in small groups. There are four tables per page, so teachers should divide their total number of students by four for printing purposes.
What are Fractions: How-To-Cards? These cards are a helpful resource for anyone using Glow with the Fractions app, whether they’re just getting started or could use a refresher. The cards explain how to physically use Glow with the app, and go through instructions for each mode on the app.
