Place your robot on the number line so that its beak is at 5. If the robot moves forward 2 blocks and then back 4 blocks, where will it be? Think about your answer, and then test it in FinchBlox!

Place your robot on the number line so that its beak is at 2. How many forward blocks do you need to make the robot end at 9? Think about your answer, and then test it in FinchBlox!

INTERMEDIATE: Level 2 or Level 3

Place your robot on the number line so that its beak is at 60 cm. If the robot moves backward 20 cm, where will it be? Think about your answer, and then test it in FinchBlox!

Place your robot on the number line so that its beak is at 73 cm. How far does the Finch need to move to end at 98 cm? Think about your answer, and then test it in FinchBlox!

Place your robot on the number line so that its beak is at 0 cm. If the Finch moves 55 cm and then 15 more cm, how far has it moved in all?

MATERIALS

For this activity, you will need a number line marked in centimeters (Level 2) or increments of 10 cm (Level 1).

INTEGRATION
